Barton Farms

Barton Farms grows peanuts, cotton, corn, wheat, oats and hay in Bonifay.  Ken Barton has been implementing Best Management Practices since 2016 and has successfully implemented multiple sustainable practices on the farm. Examples include strip-tillage and use of cover crops to reduce soil erosion, improve soil health and reduce nutrient runoff, protecting nearby land and water bodies.

Barton Farms continues to adapt to new technologies, farming methods and approaches to conserve and protect our state’s natural resources. To Ken, environmental stewardship is an opportunity to preserve the land and natural habitat for future generations. Most importantly, he describes environmental stewardship “as his sole purpose and job in this world.”
