Campbell Farms, Santa Rosa County

Keith Campbell has been farming cotton, peanuts and cover crops for 40 years. To conserve natural resources and reduce farm costs, Campbell Farms uses Best Management Practices like soil sampling, cover crops and fertility programs. They have implemented GPS tracking on sprayers, planters and harvest equipment to control water and fertilizer application. Additionally, Campbell Farms participates in a cost-share program on essential farming equipment.

When asked what environmental stewardship means to him, Keith Campbell said that “Environmental stewardship is about protecting the land, whether that be from water runoff, soil erosion, dust and over activity on the land. By preserving the land, we are protecting our legacy and promoting our way of life.”
