Churchwell Family Farm, Madison County

At Churchwell Family Farm, they aim to be efficient and productive by embracing new technologies and expanding their knowledge in cattle and hay production. Churchwell Family Farm is one of the first beef herds in the area to utilize cattle monitoring technology with the sense hub monitoring system to help manage health and maximize reproduction performance. In the last year, the farm has implemented cross fences, rotational grazing, planting permanent pastures and additional water troughs through the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS). They have converted row crop land back into cattle grazing land which has helped control erosion. Additionally, they utilize rotational grazing to maximize forage production and quality. Josh Churchwell believes it is important to take care of their land and natural resources to ensure it is sustainable in the future for their children and beyond.
