By using FDACS Best Management Practices across his vegetable, hay, and cattle operation, he reduces nutrient runoff, protects groundwater, and improves the health of the soil and natural resources.
Since enrolling in the FDACES BMP program in 2020, Clemons has expanded his conservation effort. His participation in cost-share programs have allowed him to adopt GPS-guided nitrogen application technology, helping him apply nutrients precisely, reduce waste, and strengthen both productivity and environmental protection on his farm.
Mr. Clemons’ operation shows how modern technology and conservation can work together. By implementing these BMP’s, this not only lowers his input costs but improves efficiency, supports stronger yields, healthier soil, and long-term sustainability for future generations.
