Cribbs Brothers Farms LLC, Suwannee County
Ronald and Stanley Cribbs own and operate Cribbs Brothers Farms LLC in Wellborn, Florida. The farm was started by the Cribbs brother’s great grandfather in 1838. They proudly produce hay. The Cribbs brothers have been implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) on the farm since 1994. BMPs are a set of guidelines that advise producers on how to manage the water, nutrient, and pesticides they are using to reduce agriculture’s impact on the state’s natural resources. Cribbs Brothers Farms LLC uses a nutrient and irrigation management program to protect water quality and minimize the loss of nutrients to the environment. The Cribbs brothers use precision agriculture practices to reduce the cost of production and protect the environment. These practices include GPS guidance systems for spraying, planting and harvesting. They also use an Integrated Pest Management system throughout the farm to reduce farm costs, conserve energy and protect the environment. The Cribbs Brothers attend Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wellborn. When asked why they are farmers who CARE, the Cribbs brothers responded, “for the future generations to come.”
