DeLee Produce, LLC

DeLee Produce, LLC is a family owned and operated farm in Eltkon, Florida. Dan Corey began farming in Maine but has moved to farming fulltime in Florida since 2016 when his son took over the farm up north. Along with his wife and daughter, Corey farms potatoes, broccoli, cabbage and corn in St. Johns County and has grown to almost 1,000 acres since the start of the farm.

At DeLee Produce, they implement BMPs to be better stewards of the land and to ensure the preservation of that land for future growers. Their goals include efficiency in water management, nutrient usage, and pesticide application in both Florida and Maine.

Corey uses a laser leveling system to ensure level land and ensure accurate water and nutrient disbursement across the field. They regularly take soil and petiole samples to know exactly what the soil and plants need for fertilizer and nutrients. In addition, Corey applies mulch hay to the ground to increase organic matter and better stabilize the soil. The stabilization of soil helps prevent leaching of import nutrients and holds the row for crops.

Corey is a member of the North Florida Growers Exchange, New Brunswick Institute of Agronomists, the Potato Association of America and the United States Potato Board Trade Committee.

Florida Farm Bureau Federation is proud to award a 2022 CARES designation and sign to Dan Corey for his dedication in being outstanding environmental stewards.
