IS Ranch has been in operation in gilchrist since 1946 and is owned by the Bishop family.

Through Best Management Practices (BMPs), the Bishop family is preserving land that has been in the family for five generations. They use cross fencing and rotational grazing to move their registered Brahman cattle to new forage and allow grazed areas time to re-grow. Additional BMPs implemented include fencing off wetlands on their property to protect local wildlife habitats.

The Bishops are heavily involved in the American Brahman Breeders Association, American Junior Brahman Association, Florida Cattlemen’s Association, Deep South Brahman Association and the Florida Brahman Association.

Florida Farm Bureau Federation is proud to award a 2019 CARES designation and sign to IS Ranch and family for their dedication in being outstanding environmental stewards.
