Since 2013, Justin and Jess Howard have produced Brangus cattle and hay in Union County. With land that has been passed down through his family, Howard works diligently to implement Best Management Practices (BMPs) that will preserve the land for generations to come.

BMPs, such as GPS applications and soil sampling, monitor nutrient levels throughout each of the fields and pastures. They help improve water quality and protect surrounding waterways from runoff. Additional BMPs implemented include fencing off wetlands to protect local wildlife habitats.

Howard is involved in Union County Farm Bureau and the Bradford-Union Cattlemen’s Association.

Florida Farm Bureau Federation is proud to award a 2019 CARES designation and sign to Justin Howard and family for their dedication in being outstanding environmental stewards.
