Lennon Grove Service, Orange County
Established in 2000, Lennon Grove Service focuses on citrus production and services to other growers. They have been enrolled in Best Management Practices since 2013 and have always strived to improve water quality, reduce nitrogen leaching and have continuously strived to keep the citrus industry alive. BMPs utilized include automated weather and rain gauge technology to prevent over irrigation, soil sampling to prevent over fertilizing and routine inspections of diesel fuel tanks.
Additionally, Lennon Grove Services has been participating in a new Florida Citrus Research and Field Trial program to conduct effective greening practices in commercial groves. This program is a non-profit entity of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and is enhancing the research and development of citrus varieties.
Bill believes the land needs to be protected for future generations. He said, “being a good steward of the land is the right thing to do to --preserve it for the future, which goes hand in hand with being economically sound.”
