ABOUT LONG FAMILY FARM

Barry Long is a third generation grower who produces hay, peanuts, soybeans, wheat and brown top millet in Live Oak, Florida.

Along with his sons, Long implements Best Management Practices to protect the natural resources found in and around his family property. Some of the most effective BMPs implemented include minimal tillage, crop rotation, prescribed burning, and buffer strips. Together, these BMPs help reduce soil erosion and improve both soil health and water quality.

Long and his family strive to implement practices that will leave the land and local environment viable for future generations to be successful on. He is active in Suwannee County Farm Bureau and Farmers Cooperative.

Florida Farm Bureau Federation is proud to award a 2018 CARES designation and sign to Barry Long and family for their dedication in being outstanding environmental stewards.
