Majors’ Farm

Majors’ Farm grows corn, soybeans and peanuts in Bonifay.  He has been implementing BMPs since 2018 to remain sustainable and profitable. Examples of these practices include strip-till planting, soil sampling, GPS tracking systems in equipment and cost-sharing farm equipment. He is looking to diversify his crop rotation and cover crop practices to meet the challenges of high operating costs and urban encroachment on his farm.

“Environmental stewardship is my livelihood,” said Marty Majors. “My life’s mission is to preserve the land and protect wildlife habitats by using Best Management Practices.”
