Owned and operated by Larry and Eugene Rooks, Rooks Family farm raise beef cattle and grow seed and hay.
Rooks Family has been enrolled in Best Management Practices since 2013 and implement many practices that support and protect water quality. They utilize cover crops and rotational grazing to protect soil health and have used innovative tools to help plant cover crops and harvest seed. By implementing these practices, they have improved soil health in which has increased water charge for the aquifer.
To the Rooks’, environmental stewardship means caring for the land, water, and wildlife that support their way of life. Healthy pastures, clean water, and balanced ecosystems are essential for raising strong, healthy cattle. Protecting the environment isn't just good practice, it's a responsibility they take seriously for the sake of future generations and the long-term sustainability of ranching.
