ABOUT SOUTHERN PIONEER FARMS, LLC

Sixth generation farmer, Buck Carpenter and his family, produce cattle and perennial peanut hay in Madison County.

With the use of Best Management Practices (BMPs) the Carpenter family is committed to protecting water quality and their surrounding natural resources. Soil sampling, grid sampling and native buffers are implemented to monitor nutrient use and preserve the natural waterways surrounding and on their property. Additional BMPs, such as rational grazing and cover crops, are used to protect soil health.

Carpenter is heavily involved in Madison County Farm Bureau as well as the Perennial Peanut Hay Association and Florida Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Program.

Florida Farm Bureau Federation is proud to award a 2019 CARES designation and sign to Buck Carpenter and family for their dedication in being outstanding environmental stewards.
