ABOUT Southern Pioneer Farms, LLC

Sixth generation farmer, Buck Carpenter and his family produce cattle and perennial peanut hay in Madison County.

With the use of Best Management Practices (BMPs) the Carpenter Family is committed to improving water quality and their surrounding resources. Soil sampling, grid sampling and native buffers are implemented to monitor nutrient use and preserve the natural waterways surrounding and on their property. Additional BMPs such as rational grazing and cover crops are used to give the land a rest period and time to re-grow for future production.

Carpenter is heavily involved in Madison and Jefferson County Farm Bureau as well as the Perennial Peanut Hay Association and Florida Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers.

Florida Farm Bureau Federation is proud to award a 2019 CARES designation and sign to Buck Carpenter and family for their dedication in being outstanding environmental stewards.
