ABOUT WHITE HORSE RANCH

White Horse Ranch has been owned and operated by Michelle Stagner since 1986. Stagner has raised beef cattle and operated a horse boarding facility on her property with environmental stewardship as a top priority. By implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs), she has accomplished her goals of managing water and nutrient use with a major emphasis on protecting water quality.

One of the most successful BMPs implemented included re-contouring and stabilizing eroded ditches throughout the property as well as installing control structures. As a result, water flow and sediment movement are better managed.

Other BMPs implemented include, fencing off natural water bodies and planting native vegetation in ponds to filter excessive nutrients to protect water quality as well. Rotational grazing and cross-fencing have been implemented to prevent over-grazing and protect soil health. Soil and tissue samples are taken regularly to help guide the nutrient management program.

Florida Farm Bureau is proud to award White Horse Ranch with a 2019 CARES designation and sign to Michelle Stagner for her dedication in being an outstanding environmental steward.
